And so it begins

I sewed the first merit badge today on my sons scout uniform, also my first sewing experience with badges and patches and such. I had to smile as I carefully stitched each thread into perfect place. I knew there would come a day where I frankly didn't care what it looked like as long as it would never come off.  But today was not that day. Today I wanted it to look as perfect as possible for my boy. 

I'm proud of my Boy Scout, my little bobcat. 

The Lorax

Just finished making Jackson's birthday cake. I think it turned out pretty cute. Wouldn't you say? 

Getting to know the town

I've made it a goal to try to find a new place each day for the next little while to get accustomed to the town. Today we found the library. Really close to our home and really nice. I can tell we will enjoy going there alot! Plus Jackson already found a pal there.
