So, I just had to blog about my husband because I know he loves me more than anything. He is currently working on a project I've asked him to do and it should have been really simple, but due to plumbing and electrical "stuff" unseen behind walls, it's starting to become a whopper of a project. So, while he continues to work, (because he loves me) and I'm helpless to help (because I really have no clue what he's doing or how to do it)...I just wanted to blog about him and shout his praises. I LOVE YOU BABE!! You make my life wonderful!
Today I'm thankful for...
A warm home, and a comfy bed

Christmas Music
During the month of December, well...really anytime the week of Thanksgiving and after, I constantly listen to Christmas music. I LOVE the sounds of the old crooners, Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, Perry Como...how can you have Christmas without them??! It's always in the background of our home during the season.
As a mother of four young children, I sometimes laugh at the comical background music Christmas music makes. For example, as I hurriedly am trying to make dinner and I have Shake n Bake glued to my fingers, and the phone is ringing, and two of the kids are making laps around the kitchen island, one yelling at the other to "Give it back!" and the other squealing with a humor mixed with fear, and the other two kids are wrestling RIGHT next to the Christmas tree, which they once and awhile will get ever so closely to tipping it completely over...(you get the picture)....and in the background you can hear Nat King Cole singing..."All is calm! All is bright....Holy infant, so tender and mild." It just makes me laugh.

The Annual Laugh
So, when my husband and I were married 9 years ago, I had to teach him that to properly observe Christmas, one must have a real Christmas tree. Non of this artificial stuff that doesn't send the amazing aroma of fresh pine into the air. I mean, that's the stuff that Christmas is; savory aromas to smell, delicious treats to taste and beautiful lights and scenes to see. He was of course the perfect husband and complied to my every wish. And so, we went searching for THE tree, brought it home, wedged it through our front door, and placed it in it's place of honor, right in the middle of everyday living.....the living room.
Since that time, we still get a real tree every year, BUT...we have both come to realize how truly humorous the tradition of "the Christmas tree" is. Think about it. You pay money to buy a cut down tree...something that was once living, and will live for a short week or two in your home, you throw it on top of your car, which normally you take great lengths to avoid coming in contact with trees with, and you bring it to your home, rearrange the entire living quarters to squeeze it in and you set it up in a little "stand" hoping it WILL stand and decorate it until you can't even really tell it was a tree to begin with. Humorous, right?? Well, my husband and I think so. Nevertheless, we still love to go pick out the perfect tree, now with our four children who happen to be tree picker outer experts. Seriously! Don't mess with them! Last year we went to three....count em....1, 2, 3!!!...tree lots, to find THE one.
Tonight, as we heaved the 12-13 foot pine off our car, on to our backs, and into the house, (leaving a plethora of needles trailing behind us), we both smiled and laughed as we once again welcomed into our house, NAY, into the very CENTER of our house....the Christmas Tree. (Which our children affectionately named, Pokey-pine.)

All is safely gathered in
There's something about Fall time that makes me want to stay home and be with family. To cook, clean, craft, and cuddle. Our family is doing well with our move to Utah. We have truly been so blessed.
I took the kids out to Gardner village on Thursday to enjoy the festivities of Fall. They enjoyed the pony rides the most. We've all decided we need a pony :).
In September we took the oldest three kids to Disbeyland. What a fun fun trip that was!! We all want to go back today!! There is just something beautifully innocent about disney. They loved everything BUT splash mountain. I guess I should have warned them about what was coming?? Ha ha The kids also loved the ocean and seeing the sights of California. Fun fun.
Just wanted to say hello. We are great. Come see us anytime. And happy fall to all!
Rich beyond my dreams
Today as I reached for my second dove chocolate in my newly dubbed "chocolate jar" I remembered as a young girl I always told people that when I became rich, I was going to have a platter of assorted chocolates, and everyone that came to my home could get a taste of sweetness whenever they wished. (My friends reminded me that I didn't have to be rich to do that, but I still insisted I would only have one when I was rich.)
Well, I am happy to announce I've made it. I'm rich. I didn't remember that I was always going to have a chocolate jar until today like I said. But when I pulled out my dove chocolate today, I remembered what I always said as a young girl, and let me tell you, I never understood just how rich I would be.

And so it begins
I sewed the first merit badge today on my sons scout uniform, also my first sewing experience with badges and patches and such. I had to smile as I carefully stitched each thread into perfect place. I knew there would come a day where I frankly didn't care what it looked like as long as it would never come off. But today was not that day. Today I wanted it to look as perfect as possible for my boy.
I'm proud of my Boy Scout, my little bobcat.

Getting to know the town
I've made it a goal to try to find a new place each day for the next little while to get accustomed to the town. Today we found the library. Really close to our home and really nice. I can tell we will enjoy going there alot! Plus Jackson already found a pal there.

Uncle Todd
My husband had a brother that passed away before my husband was born, Todd. Todd was 3. We've never seen his grave. Yesterday was Uncle Todd's birthday so we took the kids to his gravesite in Utah. It was pretty special. We truly have a guardian angel watching over our family.
We made it!!
We've made it to Utah!! Many of you have asked how we are doing and what is going on in our world. Thank you for your love. We are doing wonderfully comfortable. We love our new home, neighborhood, school and town. Mostly we just recognize how richly blessed we are. We know Heavenly Father loves us.
Our first week here has been great fun, complete with a spectacular firework display our neighbors put on, I'm sure just to welcome us. Absolutely mind blowing that it was put on by our neighbors. Forty five minutes of spectacular fireworks, huge huge fireworks. I just still can't believe it. The kids loved it!! We live close to our school and church and the loveliest snow cone shack. We will definitely keep them in business!!!
I will write more when we get a computer set up. Right now I'm using my phone which is not ideal for long posts. But know that we are doing great! We welcome visits and phone calls. :) I'm attaching a picture of Jackson in our new backyard. I feel that it expresses the conquering sport we feel as we successfully tackled the job of moving!! For those of you that have moved, you understand.
Again thanks for your love. More stories to come. The Corbridge adventure continues!!!

In the wee small hours
Have you heard that song, "in the wee small hours of the morning?" Well, that's what going on in my world tonight.
"In the wee small hours of the morning.
While the whole wide world is fast asleep.
You lie awake and think about the boy,
And never ever think of counting sheep."
Only in my case, I'm not thinking about "my boy" cause he's snoring so cutely next to me (love you babe). My mind is thinking about our family move that is coming up in 13 days. Yes, we are moving to Utah. (Gasp!!!) sorry if you found out by my blog. I'm actually quite excited just because I know it's right. I won't get too into that though because its special to our family. Anyway, we are grateful to have heaven guiding us even though it may be hard, and even scary.
I'm pretty comfortable right now. I know the city. I know the people. I know where to get a great taco and the quickest routes to the hospital. I know who to call to borrow a cup of sugar or to stitch up a deep cut. I know what there is to do in this town and where to try to avoid at all costs. Heck, I can even predict (with a high level of accuracy) which high school football team in the city will win the "big game" this fall. I can find my way up a mountain, to a lake and my family even has adopted a farm which we loving visit. Yet...we are leaving all that behind and going into a place we don't know. Not only that, my parents dont know. So i cant call up my mom and say, "who do you recommend as a......". I have to figure that out on my own. But, i'm okay with it because this new opportunity just feels good deep down. Ya know that feeling? It feels fresh and exciting and like a jump our family can take together where we can focus on what really matters most. Each other.
So although there are tears in our eyes and heavy hearts in our chests, there's a smile on our face and a strength in our spirits.
Wyoming will always be home. I know I'll miss it. But I know I'll love Utah too.
By the way, visitors are welcome :). It's only Utah. Not the Philippines people. You can't get too far away from us.
All our love....

Chocolate
My little Katie use to hate chocolate. She literally use to spit out the chocolate chips out if her cookies. Well, all that has changed. Check out whats left of her Easter bunny compared to my sons. Keep in mind, Easter was yesterday.

The Roaring 20's
My birthday was March 30th, and that night there was a special broadcast done by our church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, for the young women and women. Pres. Dieter F. Uchtdorf spoke and said that occasionally we should evaluate where we are on our journey in life. a few days before, I had a discussion with my husband about life and what exactly we are accomplishing. I've been thinking of that alot lately. My husband gave me great advice and told me to focus on the positive things that have happened in our life, all the good we've accomplished.
A week ago, I found a letter I wrote to myself when I was 18. Reading it, I marveled at how much I did in my twenties, how much my life changed from 18 to 30. Huge decisions, huge events that will affect the rest of my eternities. I married my best friend, which was the absolute best decision I ever made! I had four children, and experienced one miscarriage. I have watched siblings get married, have children, have heart breaks. I've had grandparents, an uncle, and a cousin pass away. I've attended 3 colleges and received my associate degree. In short, I've done alot and learned a lot and grown alot.
I was reassured that I was on the path I should be on, that my journey was going as I had hoped and planned for. At 18, I wrote about wanting to be married, to have children and to be a mother, and look at where I am. I couldn't have hoped for more and better. How beautiful and blessed I have been. I know that Heavenly Father has directed my life and blessed me for my righteous desires.
To my husband, I love you more than you could ever know, and I'm so grateful that you have made my dreams come true. Thank you for sharing my journey. Our journey. It's perfect to walk hand and hand with you.

Blessed
Today is my 30th birthday. I'm sure ill post more about today, but look at what my husband and kids surprised me with at my step aerobics class. They all walked in, roses in hand with balloons and a cake. Aren't they so sweet?? Plus, last night they decorated the house with homemade decorations and each wrote a beautiful card to me. I'm so blessed.

Springing Around the Corner
It's a beautiful day outside. The birds are chirping, the sky is blue and my kids had a picnic on the patio complete with lemonade. Believe it or not, I've had people tell me they miss my posts. How touched I am that you enjoy reading about our little life.
Well, this month started beautifully with a trip up to see my grandpa. It was our Spring break and I took the kids up to spend sometime with him. We missed grandma being around, and it wasn't the same, but it was so enjoyable to see grandpa and to even have some time to do things that we've never done with him, like go to the park and eat at the senior center. He taught my kids how to feed horses and how to cut metal with a fire torch.
We then headed down to visit my aunt and uncle and my nieces. My kids are closer in age to most of them than me, and they loved spending time with them. It was nice to catch up with them too. My aunt even treated me to lunch with no kids. That's been awhile since I've been able to do that. Thanks!!
We've also been raising baby chicks for our neighbor. They are getting so big and kinda ugly looking. My little Katie still loves to go out and hold them. She has a little chick she always finds and talks to.
I've started teaching Group Step aerobics classes at our gym. It's been so great!! I am loving having something different to do other than the every day household/kid stuff. I don't have any complaints either about how I'm feeling or looking. :-) My body thanks me.
We've had barbecues already with dear friends. It's never too soon to grill up a good hamburger. Did you know turkey burgers taste delicious? Just a side note.
Mostly, I've just been so grateful for life. For my husband, and his unmatched love. For my four children who are growing so quickly and are so beautiful and funnier than anything I've ever experienced.
And at this time of year, I'm so thankful for my Savior, who redeems and strengthens me and helps make me into who I was destined to be.
Happy Easter everyone.

Our little farm
So our neighbor is graciously letting us raise his baby chicks for a few weeks. How fun is that??! I think baby chicks are just a perfect sign of spring, don't you? The kids have loved their new pets. It's been great to see them name them and spend so much time with them. What a fun Easter gift for our family!! Aren't they cute? And yes, to all you wise guys out there, I do know chicks grow up to be mean chickens. :)

Pretty Much Paradise
My husband and I had the beautiful, fortunate opportunity to spend nine days in the Dominican Republic. We went with four other couples and stayed at the Majestic Elegance Hotel. What an experience! It's one of those things that you have to experience yourself to understand. Everything was just perfect, from the hotel and the beach to the excursions and sites we saw. Here is a quick summary of each day.
Feb. 6- We arrived in Punta Cana around 2:00 P.M. Right away, the warm tropical air wraps around you and makes you excited for what's to come. We were transported by bus to our hotel which was gorgeous! Right on the beach and decked out with everything you'd need to make it an unforgettable time. We were greeted by our personal butler, Jesus. He was needless to say a little too helpful, and we were all a bit anxious to get to our rooms to change into swimsuits and hit the beach. We eventually were able to do this and enjoyed the evening swimming and soaking up the sun. We ate dinner with the other couples at a restaurant "See and Sea", which was delicious. We were also introduced to the tropical drinks. YUM!! Although the waiters never did get use to us ordering drinks without alcohol. ha ha
Feb. 7- Laid on the beach. Played in the waves. Walked along the coastline. Need I say more? We also were dragged into the hotel "Olympics" by the over zealous crew, and we won. It was fun, once we got past the "cheer" they wanted us to do. That's another story though. Tonight, after dinner, there was a Michael Jackson show in the theatre. We went to it for awhile, but left after awhile of loudness.
Feb. 8- Today we spent the morning at the beach and then the afternoon we spent zip lining through the mountainous jungles. That was an experience. The bus ride to the spot was even an adventure. We were on, well...not roads. It was a great ride to see the countryside. The zip lining was one of those things where you thought, "Is this really happening?" When else can you be alone soaring over jungles, rivers and trees? It was breathtaking.
Feb. 9- This was a dayful!! We started bright and early at 6:00 and took an airplane up to Samana. We then boarded a bus and drove to a place where we learned about the culture and crops. We were able to sample many things, which their hot chocolate is delicious!! Then we were given rubber boots, (which we put on unwillingly) and a horse and we headed off on a not so smooth ride to waterfalls. Once there we swam in the waterfalls and pools. Absolutely beautiful!! Then we headed back for a fabulous lunch they had prepared us. Then it was back on the bus to drive to Samana bay to go whale watching. Whale watching was a complete rush! Anytime anyone saw a whale, the excitement in the boat was just fun. To see those beautiful creatures was worth everything! WOW! It was a beautiful day! We learned alot about Dominican Republic today. Saw a lot.
Feb. 10- Today was a relaxing day, and it was nice from our busy day yesterday. We just hung out with our friends on the beach. We tried to find a chapel to go to church, but it was difficult with the language barrier and with no phone number to the church. Kyle and I both decided we really really want to learn Spanish better.
Feb. 11- We played in really big waves today, and boogie boards. It was so much fun! Tonight we danced and danced outside to the music the hotel was playing. Kyle and I won a dance competition which was really fun to do with everyone.
Feb. 12- Just enjoyed another day at the beach. We couldn't get enough of the beach. It was FABULOUS!! Just beautiful water and the sand was so soft and white. Tonight, we laid out on a cabana and looked at the stars while the waves crashed on the shore. Breathtaking.
Feb. 13- Enjoyed our last morning by going to the beach again. We swam a little in the pools. Then it was time to pack up and go home. It's been a wonderful vacation!!
Baby Lou, I love you. You make life perfect.

Happy Birthday Baby!
Happy 30th Birthday, my love!!! Here are 30 reasons why it's so gosh darn wonderful to have you in my life. I LOVE YOU!!!
(in no particular order...*wink*)
30. You eat your birthday cake before it's your birthday and buy your own presents, which are actually duplicates of ones we've already bought you.
29. The simple things you do that say, "I love you." Like, doing the dishes....I'll never be able to load a dishwasher like you.
28. You are brilliant! I'm constantly amazed at the things you know.
27. You are handy! The money and headache you've saved us over the years are priceless.
26. The way we can repeat the same conversation immediately, and numerous times and we think it's so funny. Never gets old, never gets old.
25. How you let me win in pool, and you brag about me being such a pool shark, even though we both know it's not true.
24. The way you rock our kids and talk with them. It's heaven on earth. There's just something about a Dad....
23. Whipping the eggs...
22. Watching you and Nicholas get so excited about sports or cars together. I love it!
21. How you promise to not spend any more money and then you go buy something nice for me, just cause
20. Crackers, cheese, pickles and pepperoni
19. Thanks for being my personal heating pad for my feet and hands.
18. You're biceps really ARE the biggest.
17. Watching anything with you is so much more fun than watching it alone. Love our movie nights!
16. Be about 5 min. OK?? (Love our Szechwan)
15. You hold my hand every time you get the chance.
14. The protective side of you that comes out every so often
13. Your eyes
12. Letting me do whatever I dream of doing. You are so supportive. Even when it comes to painting rooms and moving furniture. :-)
11. The way you look in a shirt and tie.....Mmmm, mmmm, MMMMM!!
10. Making me feel like we're still dating...you're so full of surprises
9. Just talking in bed late at night, or early in the morning
8. Evening prayers with you are something to look forward to

Thirty
In just a few short months, I will be turning a corner that no young woman looks forward to turning. I will be turning the corner of THIRTY. It's not that I mind being thirty. I'm not really one to care about my age. It's just that thirty, literally, doesn't sound fun. Twenty is a pretty word to say. When you say any twenty number, it almost rolls off your lips and hangs in the air. Thirty sounds like you fell in a ditch, and a muddy one at that. Try it. Say "Twenty." Now say "Thirty." Doesn't it sound all hick-ish, and old and tired and....non-fun.
Okay, okay...so enough on that. I think any monumental birthday makes you stop and think about your life. Where you've been. What you've become. Who you're becoming still. As I look back on my past twenty nine years, (won't say thirty yet) I feel very very blessed. I've been so blessed to live a life of complete happiness. My parents gave me nothing short of a picturesque childhood. My teen years were full of fun with good friends and loving family. My college years were good for growing and learning. The love of my life (literally) made my prayers and dreams come true by proposing to me at Utah Lake when I was 21. Complete happiness and pure joy has followed. Marriage has been exciting and great. Kids have come easily and when we've wished. Yep! I've been spoiled and I will fully admit that. Life has treated me good, and I'm so grateful for the twenty nine years Heavenly Father has given me.
And as I look into the upcoming twenty nine years, I'm excited. Our kids are growing up and just getting cuter everyday. My husband, (who also turns thirty this year....sooner than I too, I might add) is looking amazing and oh so handsome. We have a beautiful home...
I guess I just wanted to put out a post showing appreciation for my life. What a wonderful world! (Isn't that a song??) It's a wonderful life!! (Isn't that a movie??)
That's all folks. (Isn't that a...)
